Fellowship

-A A +A

Social activities provide opportunities for fun and fellowship for all UCC Norwell members and friends. It is the goal of our ministry team to plan and organize these activities in hopes that through participation, we will become better acquainted, create new friendships and sustain old ones, and enjoy a unified sense of community where all individuals feel included.  We are always looking for new ideas and new members!

Here are some examples of Fellowship gatherings at UCC Norwell:

Homecoming

Our annual Homecoming Sunday celebration for 2016 will be held on September 11 after 10 a.m. worship.
Look for the easel in Fellowship Hall and add your name to help with:
- tent and table setup on Saturday at 9am,
- cleanup on Sunday, or
- bringing a salad or finger dessert (NO nuts, please)

Dining Around the World

Our most well-attended event, “Dining around the World” was held in May, where well over one hundred members and friends enjoyed dinner hosted in the homes of several members with a menu theme of a different country at each location. Guests brought dishes to go with the theme and enjoyed an evening of delicious food and socializing.

Fellowship Dance Evening

Last year's dance evening (sponsored by the Fellowship Team) was held in March at Friendship Home (the building behind our church).  Arrival time was at 7pm, and the instruction began promptly at 7:30pm.  Information will be provided later in the year about the date for this event.  An invitation will be sent out to people who sign up. This is a fun evening for learning some basic dance steps and to meet and socialize with other UCC members. A donation is collected to help pay for the instruction. Refreshments are also served.

Winter Outing at Widows Walk

Families and outdoor enthusiasts, stay tuned for details about our annual winter outing (held last year in February). If there’s snow, come join us for a walk, or bring your snowshoes, x-country skis, or sleds. If the ground is bare, then we can all go for a walk, play Frisbee golf, or come up with other fun outdoor games! Whatever the weather, come and enjoy a delicious breakfast or hot chocolate at Widow's Walk Golf course on the Driftway in Scituate.

Bible Quiz Night

Bible Quiz Night will be held in June after our year-long "Alpha to Omega: Jesus Edition" Bible Stories Study Groups come to a close.  The study groups are held for adults, youth, and children on Sundays and Wednesdays throughout the year.  Additional details can be found under our Education listings.

Kayaking or Canoeing?

The UCC Fellowship Ministry Team plans a kayaking and canoeing outing on a Sunday after worship (usually in June).  Locations have varied in the past.  Participants are asked to bring their own equipment and a lunch and towel or blanket.

Watch our Calendar for upcoming Fellowship Events!
