Ministry Teams of Finance + Administration

By tending to our physical and fiscal assets, these ministry teams serve as the very foundation for our mission, enabling us to love as Jesus loved and serve as Jesus served.  As stewards of our resources, these groups meet regularly to provide oversight, guidance, and direction for how to invest and use our financial resources and how to care for and maintain our church building and property.

Are you gifted in the areas of finance, human resources, or property management? Do you find meaning and purpose in working with your hands, designing or building? Ministry teams are always ready to welcome new members and support them in using their gifts in service to the world.   • The Building and Grounds Team works to supervise maintenance of the church building and our grounds. As well as regular maintenance, the team members work on planning and implementing any special projects that are undertaken. At UCC Norwell, we employ a Sexton to help with the day-to-day tasks required to keep the building running, as well as light cleaning. The responsibility to supervise the Sexton is shared by the Building and Grounds Team with the Director of Finance and Operations. One member of the Building and Grounds Team is appointed to serve on the Finance Committee. This provides a critical direct link between these two groups so that each has a clear understanding of the requirements of the facility, and the financial ability of the church to fund those requirements. It is not all work though. By established tradition, members of the Team, both past and present help with parking at any of the special events the Church might host.
