Mental Health Ministries
Lifting the shame and stigma that too often surrounds mental health challenges.
As a designated WISE (Welcoming, Inclusive, Supportive, and Engaged) Congregation for Mental Health, we are committed to fostering a community of compassion and understanding. Our Mental Health Ministries were born out of a shared calling to provide hope, care, and encouragement for individuals and families living with mental health conditions, chronic brain disorders, addictions, and trauma. Read our WISE for Mental Health Church Covenant.
Through this ministry, we:
Create safe and sacred spaces for members to share their journeys and experiences during worship and community gatherings.
Partner with local mental health organizations to offer educational resources, referrals, and ongoing support.
Actively advocate for the reduction of stigma and the promotion of mental health awareness within our congregation and the broader community.
In partnership with the Norwell VNA, our WISE for Mental Health Ministry Team offers spiritual support groups for bereavement and caregivers. These confidential groups are facilitated by a trained professional and provide a welcoming environment to:
Share personal experiences and feelings
Explore coping strategies
Learn from others who understand the journey
Throughout the year, we also offer support groups around parenting and aging, facilitated by an expert clinician. Contact our Mental Health Ministry Team to learn more, or to join our ministry team us as we walk together toward healing, wholeness, and community.
