Youth Ministries
Where deep friendships, love of Jesus, and service converge. Whether your family attends UCC Norwell or not, youth are welcome and invited to attend any youth activity. Our 2025-2026 programs include Breakfast Club, Middle School and High School Youth Groups, and Confirmation. Curious about youth ministry @ UCC Norwell? Contact our Lead Pastor Rev. Leanne Walt.
Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club is a thriving group of youth in grades 6 and 7 who gather during Sunday morning worship. The name perfectly suits their lively and engaging meetings!
Our time together begins with a heartfelt prayer followed by a delicious breakfast. The group engages in thought-provoking discussions about faith, life, and the scripture for that day’s worship service. To add a touch of fun, the meeting concludes with an enjoyable game.
The Breakfast Club is a testament to the power of community and faith, providing a welcoming space for young people to connect, learn, and grow together.
Fun, fellowship, + faith
Our Youth Groups are for young people in grades 6-8 and 9-12. Together we create a safe space in which to explore the meaning of life and faith, focusing on the teachings of Jesus: compassion, mercy, justice, and inclusion. Youth group is punctuated by game playing, music and prayer, service, and conversations about important issues impacting our community and world. We also have opportunities for outreach to the local community and beyond.
All information for middle school + high school Youth Group is available on Church Center. Registration through Church Center will be required for all participants.
Middle + High School Youth Groups
Confirmation
Traditionally, Confirmation has been a time for teenagers to "confirm" for themselves the promises that their parents made on their behalf at baptism. It's similar to rites of passage in other cultures. We see it as a time to sink deep into our Christian tradition with a group of friends. We offer Confirmation for youth in grade 8, as well as unconfirmed high schoolers. You do not need to be a member of UCC Norwell to participate, so invite a friend! Confirmation for students in grade 8 will run from fall 2025 through the spring of 2026. For more information, email Rev. Leanne Walt.
High school service project
Our youth, grades 8 and up, participate in a week-long service trip over April vacation. Youth and leaders work alongside others in homeless shelters, food pantries, clothing banks, and other settings to support those in need. We have travelled to New York City, New Orleans, West Virginia, Connecticut, Georgia, Washington, DC, and as close as Boston through organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, the Youth Service Opportunities Project (YSOP) and YouthWorks.
Our youth continually say that the service projects have changed their lives, opened their eyes, and strengthened their faith in Christ and his work in our lives.
If your youth would like to attend the service project, or you have questions, please contact Rev. Leanne Walt.
Register for SSCYC 2026 summer camp
If you are a youth in middle school or high school you are eligible for the South Shore Congregational Youth Conference (SSCYC) summer camp.
Join youth from UCC Norwell’s and other local youth groups for a week of fun, faith, and fellowship from August 9 to 16. Just like last year, we will be staying at Camp Robindel, enjoying access to an amazing lakefront on Lake Winnipesauke.

Contact Eddie Rosado
Eddie was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1977 and was raised as a church-going Catholic, attending Catholic school through most of his early education. During his high school years, he transferred to another school, graduating a year early in 1994. After spending some time discerning his path, he attended Universidad Metropolitana in Cupey, Puerto Rico from 1996 to 1998, completing 75 credits toward a degree in Marketing. During that season, he began to feel a strong call to serve his country. In 2000, after further reflection and searching, he joined the United States Coast Guard. What began as a step of faith grew into a fulfilling career. He attended electrician school later that year and continued advancing through training, deployments, and leadership opportunities. In 2017, he was honored to become a Naval Engineer Warrant Officer.
That same year, following a transfer from Gulfport, Mississippi, to Boston, his lovely wife, Rachel, and he found UCC Norwell. They officially became members in 2019 and quickly felt at home in this faith community with their two children Ava and Ian.
In the later years of his Coast Guard career, he discovered that his greatest joy came from mentoring young engineers—supporting both their professional growth and personal development. When Pastor Peter departed, he felt God calling him to bring that same passion for mentorship into the life of their church, particularly in serving their youth.
He has been serving as a Youth Ministry advisor for the past three years and looks forward to continuing to lead and support this ministry for years to come, with God’s guidance. Watching his own children grow in faith through their youth programs has been a powerful blessing and has reinforced his commitment to this work. His goal is to support and nurture the youth of UCC Norwell as he would his own children, helping build a strong, Christ-centered community that will continue for generations to come.
