Annual Thanksgiving Ingathering + emergency relief fund update

Bring your non-perishable food items for Sunday's Ingathering

Our annual Thanksgiving Ingathering sponsored by Mission + Outreach is Sunday, November 23, with bins at church entrances on the Sundays leading up to the Ingathering. Please bring non-perishable food items with you to church. On the 23rd they will be blessed during the service, then distributed to local food pantries. The need is even greater this year than ever! If you would like to contribute a grocery gift card instead of food items, please email Mark Newby.

Responding to increased local food insecurity

Recently, local food pantries shared concerning updates with Mission + Outreach (M + O) that they’ve seen a 20-30% increase in families requesting food assistance. In response to this urgent and growing need, M + O has approved additional support from our emergency relief fund to four local partners:

  • The Baby Center

  • L Street Mission

  • Rehoboth House

  • Wellspring Muti-service Center

In addition, a church member has made a significant contribution to this effort, boosting our support for food insecurity initiatives on the South Shore. The generosity of our faith community continues to brightly shine God’s love where it is needed most.
