    L Street Mission

    L Street’s mission is to develop relationships with people to help overcome addictions and restore lives. Volunteers will help prep and serve meals and/or visit or dine with guests.


    4 volunteer slots available in two shifts: breakfast 9-10:30am, lunch 12-1pm. Additional volunteers welcome to visit or eat with guests.

    Rehoboth House

    This Norwell shelter is part of Friends of the Homeless South Shore, which shelters families experiencing homelessness. They provide shelter, education, and advocacy to help families find a path to self-sufficiency and affordable housing. Volunteers will help with a fall yard clean up.

    Prison Book Program

    The organization’s mission supports people in prison by sending them free books and reading materials that meet their specific needs and interests. Volunteers will be selecting books to fulfill the requests of people in prison and/or packing book shipments, including writing a note to the recipient.

    Wellspring Food Pantries

    Wellspring’s mission is to provide support and services to people facing challenges to their financial, physical, or emotional well-being to help them achieve independence and self sufficiency. Volunteers will receive dropped-off breakfast items in front of UCC Norwell for Wellspring’s Hull and Weymouth food pantries.


    2 volunteer slots available in each of 3 shifts: 8-10am, 10am-12pm, 12-2pm

    South Shore Habitat for Humanity

    SSHH’s mission is to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter by partnering with families in need of affordable housing. Volunteers will participate in a hands-on experience at the current Easton home build site. No construction experience necessary. Volunteers must be age 16 and up. 

    10 volunteer slots available, 8:30am - 3:30pm

    Multigenerational cookout

    As a wrap-up to our day of service, join us on October 18 at UCC Norwell for a cookout for all ages. This is a great opportunity to include the youth of the church in our 60th weekend festivities. Hotdogs, hamburgers, and plenty of side dishes -- plus a bounce house and other outdoor games.

    Dinner reception at Venezia Boston

    Join us on October 19 for a dinner reception at Venezia Boston, traditionally the highlight of our UCC anniversary weekends. Cocktails followed by dinner and a 60th anniversary program in a beautiful venue overlooking Boston Harbor.
