Celebrate MLK Day with Music, Learning, and Community!

Join us for an inspiring Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Learning and Music on Monday, January 19. Hosted by UCC Norwell, the day features Kemp Harris, along with Greg Fernandes (Executive Director of Rose Conservatory), and members of the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization (GBIO). This special event brings together music, dialogue, and community to honor Dr. King’s legacy and explore how art can spark social change.

Event schedule:

  • Morning session (9:30am – 11:30am): Interactive discussions on diversity and the power of art.

  • Lunch break (11:30am – 1:00pm): Connect with fellow attendees and community leaders.

  • Afternoon concert (1:00pm – 3:00pm): Family-friendly sing-along and performances featuring Kemp Harris and Greg Fernandes

Event structure:

  • 90-minute format divided into 25-minute segments.

  • The afternoon concert will start with Kemp Harris and harmonica player Adam Osgood, followed by interactive drumming and singing led by Greg Fernandes. There will also be a performance with Greg and Kemp together.

  • The concert includes storytelling and educational elements about drum history and cultural significance to engage a family friendly audience!
