In case you missed it: our 60th Anniversary dinner on video
Now nearly six months into our 61st year as UCC Norwell, we still recall our joy-filled 60th Anniversary Dinner at Venezia Boston in October 2025. Thanks to Jim Stewart, the evening was captured on video for our historical archives. Below is a chapter index available on Vimeo for each of the evening’s presentations, in case you’d like to select presentations you missed if you were unable to join us.
Start of video: Introduction by Andy Schlosser, moderator, of emcees Wendy Bawabe and Matt Hawk.
2:55 – Matt and Wendy offer a brief intro to the evening’s program.
6:15 – History video produced by Rev. Bill Turpie and Jeff Largent to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the church.
13:45 – Wendy and Matt introduce Dave Marsden, who was 16-1/2 years old when he signed the charter at the founding of the church.
16:32 – Dave Marsden’s reflection.
29:55 – Wendy & Matt Introduce Rev. Peter Strobel to offer a blessing before dinner.
30:39 – Peter offers the blessing.
33:34 – Wendy and Matt offer a brief history of music at UCC Norwell and introduce a special presentation by the choir. (Note: The dinner video was recorded by a camera on a tripod facing the podium, so we do not have video of this wonderful musical montage by the choir.)
34:11 – Wendy and Matt recognize our special guests for the evening, including pastors and staff, M&O partners, and grown children of charter members.
42:36 – Betsy Baldwin Brink remembers 26 charter members who had passed away since our 50th anniversary.
53:30 – Wendy and Matt introduce Rev. Leanne Walt, whose first Sunday with us was on our 50th anniversary.
54:35 – Leanne offers a personal reflection, including a tribute to her family, thoughts on her ten years with us since the 50th, and thanks to Kate Bray and Erin Griffith, co-chairs of the 60th anniversary dinner.
59:35 – Kate and Erin thank Betsy Brink for serving as 60th anniversary chair, including presentation of a gift.
1:01:33 – Leanne offers a closing prayer and benediction.
1:04:46 – We stand and sing “Here We Are,” a Karen Harvey original.
