Standing out on the “Love Bridge”

On the first Saturday of every month, UCC Norwell members and local community members join our friends from First Parish UU church in Norwell in standing out on the "Love Bridge" which spans Route 3, a busy highway that runs between Boston and Cape Cod. During this stand out we show God's Love to the thousands of cars that pass! In doing so, we are taking action to counter the hate, fear, and cruelty of Christian Nationalism which is now on display in America each and every day.

We are inspired by the words of Jesus "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself." Matthew 22:37-39.

To overcome Christian Nationalism, Christians and others who believe in this commandment must show up! UCC Norwell is showing up, and getting others to do so, by standing on the “Love Bridge” with rainbow flags, signs, and other symbols of Love visible to thousands. Showing God's Love draws a positive but stark contrast between true Christianity and hate-filled Christian Nationalism. THIS is Christianity - Love All Ways!

Anyone who wants to show up with us can join us the first Saturday of every month at the River Street overpass in Norwell. 8-10am. Bring some signs, bring a friend, or just bring yourself! For more information, email Jack Spurr.
